Then and Now
The Houston Metroplex Witches Meetup Group is the largest Witch's Meetup on the planet!
We were founded October 8, 2002, and have been a going affair since then. The present Organizer has hosted or organized the event for most of that time.
As of the end of May 2006 we have had 68 events and have another 10 events scheduled out into August. We represent one of our nation's largest pagan communities right here in the bible belt.
We do not convert folks away from their religion of origin. Old and young, affluent executives and rebel squatters come to our faiths of their own volition. We are made up of a smattering of Witches, general pagans, Druids, shamanic practitioners, Vudun, new age spiritualists, Christian Witches and others.
Our varied holidays span the year including, but not limited to Ostara celebrated with eggs and bunnies, Beltane celebrated round the Maypole, Samhain warded with luminous gourds, and honored with a feast for those who have died the past year, and Yule celebrated with yule logs, Yule trees, and The Holly King who brings gifts to children to pass the winter days.
We welcome all people who wish to learn, dispel myths and are interested in PROMOTING religious dialogue, tolerance, and respect.
