Hello!
We are about two and a half weeks from the next meet up! Yay! I hope you are all enjoying the book. Here are some questions to keep in mind while you are finishing up reading: -What character do you feel best represents you? Why? -What type of fury would you think you would attract? -What element do you feel closest to? -True or False: Power in and of itself is neutral, it is how it is wielded that makes it good or bad. What are some examples of this from the book? -Do you feel there are any corollaries between how the Marat are viewed/treated in the book and how Witches are treated in our society? -How do you feel about how the word "witch" is used in this book? See you in a few weeks!! -SkyDancer |

The Marat can be representative of how civilized people treat indigenous people all the time. The civilized take the land, and then the civilized complain when the savages fight back. I actually was very attracted to the Marat.
I wish we had not missed each other on Saturday. We could have delved into question in more detail. I am still willing to meet in the future, but it would be a good idea to have somebody's cell phone number, so that Gloria and I can confirm details of the meeting before we leave for Bloomington. |
