This will be our first meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month, our new schedule. We're having a picnic at centennial park (route 108 entrance). Since the park closes at dusk (about 9pm) I bumped up our meeting to 6:30. If this is a problem for most of you drop me a line and we can find somewhere else to have it. Please bring your favorite picnic items for our potluck dinner that evening.

We will be talking about which gods and godesses influence our lives/ our path. I think this would be a great opportunity for us to explore a little outside each of our comfort zones & learn about each other's influences on their path. I personally am influenced by several different godesses and gods (I definately take more of a pantheistic approach) and so I probably will a bit about a goddess or two who are usually misrepresented or lesser known. Feel free to bring pictures, statues anything that will help us have a better understanding of a particular god or goddess. It was also put forward we could dele into totem animals as well. I like this idea but some of us may not have had experience with totem animals yest. If you haven't, no worries. We just want to get to know each other better.

Please when you rsvp could you comment on what you will be bringing . Hope you're having a wonderful summer!
Brightest Blessings
~Michelle

Talk about this Meetup

Well I tend to deal a lot with Native American traditions, so I can talk a little bit about the White Buffalo Calf woman and the Double Faced Woman.

Who attended?

    •  Thanks to everyone for sharing their thoughts and experiences. I'd like to meet here again, maybe at one of the pavilions above the boat slip - great views from there and a bit of privacy and shelter.

We had a wonderful discussion. It was great to hear everyone's different opinions & traditions in a open and respectful group, especially considering the personal nature of the conversation. I really appreciated the comments made by two of our newest members, Jen & Carol. Its hard to speak up in a group of new strangers. I think we all have some new things we want to learn more about after this discussion, some examples include Lakota traditions & Huna.
    •  It was great to learn about the things that are important to everyone.
